Overview
Join the HTQ Executive Team as the Senior Manager, Program Operations & Partnerships, where your leadership will shape the future of health and technology innovation. Working closely with the Executive Director, you’ll drive the implementation of HTQ’s strategic plan and lead the development, delivery, and evaluation of high-impact programs and operations.
This pivotal role offers the opportunity to foster strong partnerships across the HTQ network and beyond, ensuring collaborative success and operational excellence. As a key advisor to the Executive Director, you’ll be instrumental in achieving the Board’s strategic objectives to drive the translation of research into practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership – Partner with the Executive Director to drive HTQ’s strategic planning, program development, and performance monitoring across a dynamic multi-institutional network.
- Stakeholder Engagement – Build and lead strong relationships with national partners and stakeholders, including NHMRC and other Research Translation Centres across Australia, to advance collaborative health innovation.
- Operational Excellence – Oversee operational delivery, governance, and financial management, ensuring alignment with UQ policies and strategic objectives.
- Team Leadership – Provide direction and support to professional staff, fostering a high-performance culture and leveraging the broader HTQ team’s expertise.

Health Translation Queensland connects people and ideas to turn research and innovation into better health service delivery. As an NHMRC-accredited Research Translation Centre, we work across our partnership to build the capability of our research translation workforce and remove barriers to collaboration to accelerate translation of research into clinical practice.

About You
- Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant area and extensive relevant experience and management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
- Extensive senior management experience in a university, government, hospital, or medical research institute setting (or equivalent).
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, including success in consultations and high-level negotiations with key stakeholders.
- Experience with preparing and delivering major reports, briefing documents and presentations to diverse audiences, including Executive and Board meetings.
- Experience in financial, operational and people management of a complex organisation, ideally in a research or health environment.
- Strong time-management, self-motivation, and ability to work independently and in a team; capable of handling multiple initiatives under time pressure.
