Due to continued growth, Format Homes is now seeking a Residential Construction Estimator to join the team.
The Role
This role is central to the successful delivery of residential building projects, ensuring all pricing, contracts, variations, and job costings are accurate, commercially sound, and construction ready.
Working closely with Sales, Selections, Construction teams, suppliers, and subcontractors, the Estimator plays a key role across both pre-construction and construction phases, helping ensure projects run smoothly from contract through to completion.
The role will suit someone who enjoys detail, problem solving, and collaboration, and who takes pride in delivering accurate and well organised work.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparing accurate construction estimates, quotations, and costings
* Supporting Sales with upgrade pricing, supplier pricing, and energy upgrade costings
* Reviewing contracts and documentation prior to signing
* Pricing client variations, upgrades, and plan changes
* Maintaining estimating databases, pricing schedules, and cost records
* Monitoring job costs and identifying discrepancies or missing variations
* Checking supplier invoices against agreed pricing
* Reviewing walkthrough documentation prior to final invoicing
* Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams throughout the build process
* Supporting continuous improvement across estimating systems and workflows
About You
* Experience in residential construction estimating
* Strong understanding of residential building processes and contracts (HIA knowledge advantageous)
* Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem solving skills
* High attention to detail and strong organisational ability
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office
* Collaborative, proactive, and solutions focused approach
