Flashbutt Technician
Pilbara Based Work | FIFO or Residential
Pilbara Rail Maintenance Pty Ltd (PRM) is seeking an experienced Flashbutt Technician to join our growing operations team.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform servicing, maintenance and repairs on flashbutt welding equipment and associated attachments
* Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and control system faults
* Provide field breakdown support to minimise equipment downtime
* Commission, inspect and optimise flashbutt welding machinery
* Carry out wiring, re-wiring and equipment repairs as required
* Complete preventative maintenance and routine servicing activities
* Maintain accurate maintenance records, defect reports and service documentation
* Assist with installation, calibration and assembly of equipment components
* Work collaboratively with workshop, operations and project teams
* Maintain strong safety, quality and housekeeping standards at all times
Required Skills and Experience
* Trade qualification (Mechanical, Electrical or similar) with post-trade experience preferred
* Experience maintaining and troubleshooting flashbutt welders or similar heavy machinery
* Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding capability
* Understanding of hydraulic systems and control systems
* Ability to diagnose and rectify faults efficiently
* Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
* Current unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence
* Current White/Construction Card
* Ability to pass a CAT 1 Rail Medical and pre-employment drug & alcohol screening
* Physically capable of working in demanding operational environments
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Previous rail industry experience
* Experience with mobile flashbutt welding equipment (DOOSAN highly regarded)
* High Risk Work Licence (LF, DG, C2 or similar)
* Cert II or III in Rail Infrastructure
* TLIC3045 Operate Road/Rail Vehicle
* Advanced First Aid
* Heavy Rigid Licence
