Time commitment for this role
If you have an hour or two per week available and would love to chat with our residents, while assisting with art and craft activities we would love to hear from you! This opportunity is available at our centres on a day or time that suits you for residents who would love a good chat and someone to spend time doing this activity together.
Other types of activities you could be involved with
Amana Living volunteers work alongside the allied health team. For one‐on‐one visits you can be involved in activities like chatting together, board games, reading magazines, newspapers, discussing books, simple art and craft, listening to music, watching movies and if you have a hidden talent such as chess, knitting or gardening please let us know. Smiling and laughing are contagious – make a difference in someone's life today.
For group activities we assist where there are scheduled sessions such as bingo, bus trips, pamper sessions, art and craft, cooking, quizzes, walking groups and more.

Who we are looking for
Amana Living volunteers are kind, compassionate and have a passion for creating a community for our residents, sharing their time, encouraging smiles, laughs and enriching their lives with social interactions. We can usually fit around your schedule.
It is such a privilege to be a volunteer; the role is worthwhile, and you get so much in return it's about spending time with a person, talking to them, and enriching their life. – Renee, volunteer
How it works
The first step is to apply online at the Amana Living website under Volunteer. You will be required to create a profile and fill in an application directly through Amana Living (separate to the expression of interest). We support you through the whole process.
We have a meeting to discuss the roles available, locations, your interests and required compliance. All volunteers receive orientation at the site, further training when required, support and access to current information on volunteering and aged care. References are available upon request.
At Amana Living, volunteers become part of the team, making a real difference and enjoying the positive reward of the Amana Living community. Our volunteers also have opportunities to connect with other like‐minded individuals at regular social events throughout the year.
