Tasks & responsibilities
* Interpret construction plans, blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to determine project requirements, dimensions, and installation methods.
* Select, prepare, and organise timber, tools, equipment, and construction materials in accordance with project specifications and Australian standards.
* Measure, cut, shape, and assemble timber and other materials to construct and install frameworks, structures, and fittings.
* Construct and install wall frameworks, roof structures, subfloors, flooring systems, and partitions while ensuring structural integrity and alignment.
* Install doors, locks, skirting boards, architraves, cabinetry, and other internal fittings and fixtures.
* Carry out framing, finishing, and general carpentry works for commercial and industrial projects.
* Construct, erect, and dismantle formwork for concrete structures as required.
* Repair, maintain, and modify existing structures, fixtures, and fittings to ensure functionality and compliance.
* Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery safely and efficiently.
* Ensure all carpentry work is completed in compliance with workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements and relevant Australian building standards.
