About the Role
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Mining Manager to lead a growing underground operation in the Cobar Basin. You'll take ownership of production and development teams, drive performance, and champion a strong safety culture while shaping the future direction of the site. This is a high‐impact leadership role suited to someone who thrives on accountability, continuous improvement, and delivering results.
Roster: 5/2, 4/3 – 10 Hours (Residential) OR 8/6 – 12 Hours (FIFO & DIDO)
Location: Peak Mine, Cobar NSW
Travel Options
* Residents enjoy a balanced roster and the opportunity to settle into the family‐friendly township of Cobar. Relocation support is available, along with a residential allowance.
* DIDO if you live within an 800km radius of the Mine site which includes a travel allowance.
* FIFO from Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance and continuous reduction in TRIFR.
* Build and maintain high‐performing relationships across site teams and contractors.
* Drive planning and execution to consistently achieve production targets.
* Oversee budgets and resources to deliver sustainable operational performance.Mentor and develop leaders, fostering a culture of accountability and growth.
* Champion strategic initiatives and continuous improvement across the operation.
Qualifications and Experience
* Tertiary qualifications in mining engineering or related discipline.
* 10+ years mining experience, including 3+ years in underground hard‐rock mining.
* 2 years Technical Services experience (mine design and scheduling).
* 6+ years in Operational Management and supervisory roles.
* NSW Mining Engineering Manager Certificate (Needed straight away), valid NSW explosives security clearance, or other Inter‐State certificate able to apply for mutual recognition, and valid Australian driver's licence.
* Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and written and verbal communication skills.
