Job Description:
As an Industrial Painter, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces and applying paints, varnishes, and other protective coatings to various industrial structures and equipment. This role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Duties & Responsibilities
* Remove parts and panels from the vehicle.
* Prepare panels for painting with hand and power sanders.
* Mask areas that are not to be painted with tape and paper.
* Select pre-mixed paint or mix paints with base and tint to match the paint.
* Colour matching and mixing paints to match paint shades, and selecting pre-mixed paint.
* Applying primer and finishing coats using spray guns, and sanding surfaces between coats.
* Touching up paintwork and applying polish to vehicles.
* Removing masking papers, and waxing and polishing finished paintwork.
* Painting signs and artwork on vehicles.
* Treating vehicles with rust-proofing chemicals.
Qualifications:
Certificate III Preparation and Coating Application MSM30216-01 or Certificate III Automotive Refinishing Technology AUR32420-01 or similar.
Proven experience in industrial painting or a similar role.
Knowledge of paint types, application methods, and safety protocols.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various environments (indoors/outdoors, heights, etc.).
