Senior Solutions Architect (Developer Programmer)
A Senior Solutions Architect/Senior Applications Developer is required to assist Intershop Communications Australia with product development and project development. The Solutions Architect/Senior Applications Developer is expected to play a major role in ensuring that the technical procedures, tools and ultimately the code produced are of a high caliber and fit for purpose. This role supports the growing needs of the online market and the evolution of the Intershop product, as well as handling numerous projects across APAC.
Skills and Qualifications
* Bachelor of Computer Science and Engineering
* 7+ years of experience as a software engineer or similar role
Responsibilities & Key Duties
Broad and varied responsibilities include:
* Java 1.8 development including Java Enterprise Edition features
* Experience with Gradle build system and containerization
* Understanding of concurrent version systems GIT and Subversion
* Web services client and server sides in SOAP and REST
* XML and XSD
* Worked with Eclipse or Intershop Studio
* Oracle 11g or 12c knowledge including writing complex SQL scripts
* Apache SOLR and/or Elastic Search
* Azure and Amazon AWS knowledge is a bonus
* Existing experience with Intershop Commerce Suite 7.x is essential
Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
* Developing scalable software solutions using Java, Intershop, and Angular to meet evolving business needs
* Creating Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) to enhance frontend performance and provide a native-like experience
* Integrating payment methods for seamless online shop checkout functionality
* Developing RESTful APIs for efficient application communication between components
* Integrating OpenAI for automated content generation
* Developing and deploying containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes
* Applying Test‑Driven Development (TDD) with JUnit to maintain high code quality
* Performing performance tuning, code optimization, and debugging
* Following coding standards and best practices for secure and maintainable software development
* Managing version control and team collaboration through Git
* Conducting code reviews to ensure alignment with coding standards
* Documenting system processes and architectures to provide clear references
* Providing guidance and mentorship to junior developers on coding and design practices
* Collaborating with business teams to clarify requirements and ensure alignment with project objectives
* Utilizing Agile methodologies for iterative delivery of high-quality features
Non‑technical capabilities include:
* Experience or exposure in running training sessions / client interaction
* Appreciation for the nuances of working in a growing business alongside developers and other technical and business resources
* Exposure to the Intershop 7.x Web‑based Back Office is essential
* Commercial environment in a project management function
* Intermediate competence skill level in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Excellent stakeholder management skills, including attending client meetings and occasional sales engagement
* Participation in implementing and applying business processes within the delivery team or department
* Participating in business solution scoping
