About the Role
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with experience in design (D&C; or Consultancy), looking to join our CV Infrastructure Services business, supporting the delivery of electrical and communications projects. This role offers a balance of office-based design work and on-site involvement, working closely with internal design teams and construction partners to ensure projects are delivered safely, accurately, and to specification. If you've worked in an engineering consultancy, but want to work with contractors and on site, this is the role for you!
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a key role across the full project lifecycle—from site investigations and design development through to construction support and final certification.
Key responsibilities include:
* Reviewing existing electrical and communications installations to inform design outcomes
* Conducting maximum demand assessments for new and existing installations
* Undertaking LV and communications site investigations to verify as-constructed information
* Preparing high-quality technical reports, specifications, Bills of Quantities, and tender documentation
* Managing and supporting a design team of engineers and draftspersons to deliver detailed IFC designs
* Providing technical support to electrical contractors during construction to ensure compliance with design documentation
* Supervising and verifying installations at hold and witness points, including review of photos, test sheets, and checklists
* Assisting with final works package certification
Qualifications
* Bachelor of Electrical Engineering
* Diploma of Electrical Engineering
* Queensland Electrical Licence (current or previous)
Experience & Skills
* A practical, hands‐on understanding of electrical works
* Experience in either an engineering design consultancy, or D&C firm
* Basic working knowledge of AutoCAD
* Experience using LV maximum demand software
* Proven ability to prepare technical reports and design specification documentation
