About Us
As an evidence-based community support organisation, Fortem Australia provides Australia's emergency service and national security families (working as employees or volunteers) with comprehensive and integrated wellbeing support. In short, our mission is to support the mental health and wellbeing of first responders and their families – the people who protect and care for our communities.
This role will be a casual role (2 days per week) and will be based in Townsville as a remote role.
In this role, you will support the success of Fortem Australia through the coordination, design, and delivery of social connection activities and wellness support programs to Australia's national security and first responder personnel and their families. This includes providing support to the wider team and being the subject matter expert and point of contact for the relevant geographical area regarding the local community, and service providers.

What you will be doing:
Stakeholder Engagement:
* Participate in regular meetings with internal stakeholders to ensure all our activities are planned, coordinated, and delivered in a timely and professional manner. This includes ensuring all the desired outcomes are met.
* Work with suppliers to ensure all Fortem Australia activities are presented and delivered in a compliant and professional manner.
* Provide regular updates to the line manager regarding planned activities.
* Understand agency and participant needs, current programs, and strategic direction through liaising with the Community Engagement Coordinator(s) (CEC's), Care Coordinators and Psychologists.
Activities:
* Contribute to the development of an annual activities schedule.
* Deliver/facilitate connection opportunities and wellness support programs for national security and first responder personnel and their families via Fortem Australia's programs.
* Assist with the design, implementation, and monitoring of social connection activities and wellness support programs in the relevant geographic area. This includes ensuring programs are:
* evidence-based and align with the activities framework and strategy;
* delivered consistently within the relevant geographic area; and
* aligned with Trauma Informed Care (TIC) principles.
* Work towards early intervention and help-seeking behaviour amongst national security and first responder personnel and their families.
* Participate in regular follow-ups with Community Engagement Coordinators (CEC's), Care Coordinators, and Psychologists to gather timely feedback and share within Fortem Australia as appropriate to ensure continuous improvement and compliance.
* Ensure relevant administration and reporting requirements are met.
* Develop and enhance relationships within relevant service suppliers.
* Travel and work outside normal business hours as required to facilitate activities.
What the role requires:
Experience (preferred):
* Significant experience in the delivery of community engagement and/or wellness services, and/or the areas of relevant research or preventative wellness programs.
* Experience in event management/planning is desirable.
* Excellent attention to detail and administration skills.
* Intermediate or above level of competency with Microsoft Office.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with individuals and groups from a variety of backgrounds.
* Experience or knowledge of the national security and first responder sectors
* Working with children check or your states equivalent
* Current driver's license.
* Current First Aid & CPR certificate (or ability to obtain this)
