Due to strong client demand, we are seeking experienced Commercial Managers to support major Defence programs within a Commonwealth environment.
About The Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a Defence program based at Campbell Park, Canberra. Supporting either the CJC10 or JP9101 program, you will provide commercial leadership and contract management expertise to ensure the successful delivery of project outcomes within a complex stakeholder environment.
Working closely with Defence personnel, industry partners, and project teams, you will be responsible for managing commercial activities, supporting procurement and contracting processes, ensuring contractual compliance, and providing strategic commercial advice to program leadership.
The client is seeking candidates who can commence as soon as possible and operate effectively within a fast‐paced Defence environment.

Duties & Responsibilities
* Provide commercial and contract management support across Defence projects and programs.
* Manage contract administration activities throughout the contract lifecycle.
* Support procurement and sourcing activities in accordance with Commonwealth procurement requirements.
* Review, negotiate, and manage contractual obligations and deliverables.
* Provide commercial advice to project and program stakeholders.
* Assist with contract variations, extensions, amendments, and renewals.
* Monitor supplier performance and contract compliance.
* Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
* Prepare commercial documentation, reports, briefs, and recommendations.
* Liaise with Defence stakeholders, industry partners, and internal project teams to achieve program outcomes.
* Ensure compliance with Defence governance, policy, and commercial frameworks.
You Will Ideally Possess
* Demonstrated experience as a Commercial Manager, Commercial Officer, Contract Manager, or Procurement Specialist within Defence or Government environments.
* Strong knowledge of Defence commercial and procurement processes.
* Experience managing complex contracts and supplier relationships.
* Understanding of Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and Defence procurement frameworks.
* Experience working with ASDEFCON contracts (highly desirable).
* Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work autonomously within a complex and fast‐paced environment.
* Current NV1 Security Clearance (minimum).
