We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Marine Operations Manager to lead our vessel operations team based in Hervey Bay and K’gari. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of our marine fleet, ensuring exceptional service delivery and adherence to maritime regulations.
About the Role
The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership to vessel crews, ensure compliance with AMSA, NSCV, Marine Orders, and WHS legislation, and promote a proactive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership to vessel crews
- Ensure compliance with AMSA, NSCV, Marine Orders, and WHS legislation
- Plan & Oversee vessel maintenance, navigation, and emergency preparedness
- Promote a proactive safety culture and conduct crew training
- Lead customer service excellence and manage passenger interactions
- Conduct audits, inspections, and support corporate initiatives
What You’ll Bring
- Current Master <45m Certificate of Competency
- Current MED Certificate (minimum MED 3, MED 2 preferred)
- Current Radio Operations Licence
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Proven leadership in marine operations and crew management
- Strong knowledge of maritime legislation and WHS obligations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
- Workplace Trainer & Assessor qualification (preferred)
