Do you want to be part of a collaborative health & safety team working on the first major salt project developed in Australia in two decades?

Reporting to the Superintendent Health & Safety, you will be responsible for promoting and ensuring the BCI and Mardie specific Health & Safety requirements to all site-based personnel including Contractors to the Operation are adhered to.

We are rapidly progressing the Mardie Salt Operation and Potash Project (Mardie Operation), a tier 1 solar evaporation project that will supply high-purity industrial salt and sulphate of potash (SOP) for more than 60 years.

Mardie will be the largest salt operation in Australia and the third largest globally. With first salt on ship on track to be achieved this year, BCI Minerals is just at the beginning of its journey to become a key player in a multitude of globally significant sustainable opportunities.

The Role

The Advisor Health & Safety will initiate, promote and drive a positive Health and Safety culture within the workplace, they will conduct site inductions and provide support to any new BCI employees and contractors at Mardie and ensure all H&S records are maintained. The role will ensure all incidents are reported, recorded, escalated and then investigated as per the BCI standards and procedures. The successful candidate will assist with the implementation of the H&S management plan and programs, and be involved in field leadership, mentorship, and engagement with the workforce. The Advisor Health & Safety will be able to build strong working relationships with all personnel on site and provide H&S advice to the Operational workforce. They will conduct auditing, field inspections and risk assessments in a timely manner to help improve awareness and maturity of health and safety in the workforce.

About You
* Certificate IV (or working towards) in Workplace Health & Safety or relevant university graduate diploma in safety.
* Previous experience as a health and safety representative.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the desire to build meaningful relationships at work.
* The desire and motivation to work in a remote environment on a FIFO 8:6 roster.

You must have current unrestricted working rights for Australia to be eligible for consideration.
