Provisional Psychologist – Clinician (Rehabilitation & Reintegration Services)
Ravenhall Correctional Centre is seeking Provisional Psychologists to join our Rehabilitation and Reintegration Services team. The role is ideal for psychology graduates or soon‐to‐be graduates who want hands‐on forensic experience under supported supervision.
The Opportunity
As a Provisional Psychologist, you will work under close supervision within a multidisciplinary clinical team. You will develop forensic assessment and intervention skills while contributing to the Continuum of Care model in a forward‐thinking correctional environment.
Your Key Impact Areas
* Conduct structured clinical interviews, psychometric testing, functional behaviour assessments and risk assessments
* Develop comprehensive forensic case formulations and individualised treatment plans
* Deliver individual cognitive‐behavioural interventions addressing criminogenic needs, treatment readiness, trauma, distress and reintegration
* Co‐facilitate evidence‐based group programs targeting violence, substance use, family violence, antisocial thinking, problem solving and impulsivity
* Participate in family‐based rehabilitation programmes at the Community Reintegration Centre
* Provide supported post‐release psychological support to selected ex‐prisoners
* Contribute to case conferences, reintegration planning and multidisciplinary reviews
* Collaborate with custodial teams, forensic care, GEO Health, YMCA and other alliance partners
* Maintain high‐quality clinical documentation and data integrity
* Participate in intensive clinical supervision, reflective practice and professional development
Qualifications
* Possession of a 4‐year APAC‐accredited sequence of study in Psychology
* Registered or eligible for registration as a provisional psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA)
* Genuine interest in the role of the psychologist within the Victorian Criminal Justice System
* Desire to learn about forensic psychology, including Good Lives Model, Risk Need Responsivity, and Therapeutic Jurisprudence
* Demonstrated awareness of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
* Ability to take direction and feedback and incorporate it into practice
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively cross‐agency and within multidisciplinary teams
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including preparation of clinical formulations and reports
