Overview
Full Time, 12mths fixed term position. Located on Camperdown or Darlington Campus. Motivated, enthusiastic, and suitably qualified Gardener to join the University of Sydney grounds team. Base Salary HEO3, $75,885 p.a. + 17% superannuation.
About the opportunity
The University's grounds are known for their local heritage and natural beauty. We have an excellent Open Spaces team that manages the maintenance, repair and replacement of the University's landscape.
Responsibilities
* Perform grounds maintenance tasks on the Campus
* Assist in ensuring property, plant & WH&S elements are maintained in pristine condition
* Adhere to all WH&S Policies and procedures as directed by any Senior Grounds Officer, Grounds Supervisor or Landscape and Grounds Manager
* Provide reliable, consistent and professional service (keeps the client informed regularly)
About you
* Certificate III in Horticulture, Parks & Gardens, Landscape or Turf
* C class driver's licence and ability to drive a manual vehicle (essential)
* Experience in horticulture including garden maintenance, soft and hard landscaping, and a good understanding of related trades
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work flexible hours, in various locations (including all metropolitan campuses) and in all weather conditions as required
* Sound knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Suite of applications
