Position Summary
We are seeking experienced Residential Care Workers / Youth Workers to support young children in a structured residential setting on the Sunshine Coast. This role requires a high level of professionalism, emotional intelligence, and the ability to manage complex behaviours while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment.
You will be responsible for providing day-to-day care, implementing care plans, and supporting children with their developmental, emotional, and behavioural needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality, trauma‐informed care to children and young people
* Support daily routines including personal care, meals, education, and activities
* Implement individual care plans, behaviour support plans, and risk assessments
* Manage challenging behaviours using approved strategies and de‐escalation techniques
* Maintain accurate documentation, incident reports, and progress notes
* Work collaboratively with families, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams
* Ensure compliance with NDIS standards, Child Safety requirements, and organisational policies
Requirements
* Demonstrated experience working with children or young people in residential care or similar settings
* Strong understanding of trauma‐informed care and behaviour management
* Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (or equivalent) – highly desirable
* Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check – QLD)
* NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
* Current First Aid and CPR certification
* Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle
* Ability to work shift work, including sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays
* Can start immediately
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* High level of resilience and emotional regulation
* Ability to work independently and within a team
* Commitment to safeguarding children and maintaining professional boundaries
