Environmental Advisor
We are recruiting an Environmental Advisor to support the delivery of key projects in Canberra. This is a hands-on, site-based role where you'll play a critical part in ensuring strong environmental outcomes, regulatory compliance, and positive community engagement throughout project delivery. If you enjoy being embedded in delivery teams, influencing outcomes on the ground, and working collaboratively with construction leaders, this role will suit you.
Responsibilities
* Providing onsite environmental leadership and advice across live construction activities
* Preparing, reviewing and implementing Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMP), sub-plans and Environmental Work Method Statements
* Supporting compliance with environmental licences, approvals, permits and project conditions
* Conducting inspections, audits and monitoring activities, and supporting corrective actions
* Delivering environmental inductions, toolbox talks and targeted training
About you
You're a confident and practical environmental professional who understands the realities of construction delivery and knows how to balance compliance with commercial outcomes. You communicate clearly, build trust with site teams, and aren't afraid to be visible and proactive.
Qualifications & Experience
* A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering
* Minimum 3-5 years experience in environmental roles within civil engineering and infrastructure
* Working knowledge of environmental legislation, approvals and compliance obligations
* Confidence working directly with project managers, supervisors, subcontractors and clients
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing site priorities
* Full driver's licence
