About the Opportunity
Council's Building and Depot unit sits within the City Services Directorate and focuses on compliance, operational maintenance, and safety of the fleet and building assets. Cumberland City Council manages over two hundred fleet assets across the LGA which provide a wide variety of services to our community. In contributing to the overarching vision, the Fleet and Workshop Officer ensures efficient, cost effective, sustainable, and customer focused fleet procurement, management, maintenance and reporting to an industry best practice standard, as per Council's policies and procedures and all regulatory fleet requirements. Fleet in this position refers to all Council vehicles and plant, both owned and leased.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanics, Motor Mechanical, Fleet Management or equivalent experience
* Extensive knowledge of fleet management principles
* Experience in implementing plant utilisation and relevant budgeting information
* Experience in research and analysis of fleet data and usage to drive business improvement
* Knowledge of Transport for NSW registration and licensing processes, Toll services and infringement processing
* Experience in external contracts and supply
* Demonstrated customer centric approach to delivering services
* Strong organisation and administration skills
* Ability to communicate with team members and the public as well as dealing with sales representatives
* Competent computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite of applications particularly Excel and financial and electronic document management systems
* Class C Drivers Licence
* The right to live and work in Australia
* Be able to provide information for pre‐employment checks required for the position, including attending a physical pre‐employment medical examination as required
* Participate in health monitoring as outlined in the risk assessment for this position and Council's Health Monitoring Procedure, as required
Employment Details
* Permanent, full‐time position
* 70 hours fortnight
* Access to Council's 9 day fortnight Accrued Day Off (ADO) arrangement
* Located at Council's Guildford Depot, with frequent travel required across Council worksites, and may be required to work across any of Council's work locations
* Salary in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award
* Grade 11 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,765.48 to $2,030.30 per week, plus 12% superannuation
* Commencing salary negotiated based on qualifications, skills and experience
* A leaseback vehicle

About the Council
