About the Company
Adecco is seeking a Managing Lawyer to lead the Civil Law Practice and Generalist Programs for our client, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed legal services across the Barwon region. This role involves supervising a team of lawyers and support staff, contributing to service coordination and program oversight, and playing a key role in organisational leadership. The Managing Lawyer will support integrated service delivery, working closely with internal teams and external partners to meet the complex needs of clients experiencing disadvantage. This position is part of a multi-disciplinary legal practice that integrates legal advice, casework, community legal education, law reform, and advocacy.

The Managing Lawyer will lead and manage the Civil Justice team, fostering excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the Civil Justice team, fostering excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
* Provide legal supervision, mentorship, and case direction to staff and volunteers.
* Oversee delivery of key legal programs and ensure compliance with risk management frameworks.
* Deliver high-quality legal services and maintain a small, strategic casework load.
* Contribute to strategic planning, reporting, and organisational leadership.
* Engage in community legal education, law reform, and stakeholder collaboration.
* Act as duty lawyer in the Family Violence jurisdiction at Geelong and Colac Magistrates’ Courts.
Qualifications
* Extensive experience in legal practice, including at least seven years post-admission experience.
* Proven leadership and team management capability with experience supervising legal staff.
* Strong commitment to social justice and equity, understanding systemic disadvantage.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for engaging across diverse settings.
* Experience in community legal education, law reform, and advocacy.

Pay range and compensation package
* Base annual salary ranging from $122,670 to $127,788.
* Additional entitlements include 3% above Award pay rate.
* Five weeks of annual leave with three days bonus leave between Christmas and New Year.
* Annual leave loading and 12 days personal leave.
