Working as the CFO's right-hand support and Finance 2IC, this role offers broad exposure to the CEO and senior stakeholders while supporting fund administration, liquidity management, month‐end close, and investor reporting. You'll also play a key role in driving process and systems improvements as the business continues to scale.
MARS Recruitment has partnered with a fast‐growing financial services firm seeking a motivated Financial Analyst to join their team.
The Responsibilities:
* Support the month‐end close process, including preparation of journals, accruals, amortisation, and depreciation entries
* Prepare and deliver management, investor, and servicer reporting, ensuring consistency between systems and underlying source data
* Oversee daily and month‐end fund administration activities, including liquidity reporting, investor interest calculations, and funding transactions
* Complete bank, loan book, intercompany, and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and integrity across financial records
* Administer broker commission processes, including statement preparation, payment processing, and stakeholder coordination
* Liaise with auditors, outsourced service providers, and internal teams to support audits, payroll, payments, and broader financial reporting requirements
* Contribute to ongoing projects, system enhancements, and process improvement initiatives, including technology refresh and automation opportunities
The Requirements:
* Currently working towards (or recently commenced) a CA/CPA/ACCA/CIMA qualification
* Previous experience within Financial Services is highly regarded
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across the business
* A proactive mindset with a focus on identifying process improvements and efficiency opportunities
* Excellent time management skills and the ability to work autonomously to meet tight deadlines
* Exposure to Power BI is highly regarded
To Note:
* Office located near Double Bay in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs (10 minute walk to Edgecliffe Station)
* This is a permanent opportunity; however, a 6‐month fixed‐term contract may also be considered for the right candidate
