We are seeking a Handyperson or an Apprentice who is fit and healthy to learn to service, install and repair refrigeration and air conditioners.
**THE ROLE**
- Full time apprentice position. Handyperson position is part time to full time. The successful applicant will be working both alone and with colleagues in the workshop and onsite jobs.
- As an apprentice in refrigeration and air conditioning, your role involves learning and assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning systems. You'll be working under the supervision of experienced technicians and professionals to gain hands-on experience and develop your skills in the field.
- Performing maintenance tasks: Learn to conduct routine maintenance procedures on refrigeration and air conditioning systems to ensure they function efficiently and reliably. Maintenance tasks may include cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, inspecting electrical connections, and changing filters.
- Troubleshooting and repairs: Assist in diagnosing problems with refrigeration and air conditioning systems and participate in the repair process. You'll learn to identify issues like leaks, faulty components, or electrical malfunctions and work with experienced technicians to fix them.
- Handling tools and equipment: Become familiar with the various tools and equipment used in the industry, such as gauges, thermometers, vacuum pumps, and electrical testing devices.
- Safety and regulations: Learn about safety protocols and regulations related to refrigeration and air conditioning work. You'll be taught how to handle refrigerants properly, manage electrical hazards, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Adaptability and teamwork: Work alongside other team members, such as technicians, engineers, and project managers, and be open to learning from their experiences.
