Safer Care Victoria was established in January 2017 to ensure our health services are providing safe, high-quality care to patients: every time, everywhere. As well as monitoring the standards of care provided, Safer Care Victoria is partnering with patients, clinicians and health service managers to support the continuous improvement of health care. Our aim is to ensure outstanding health care for all Victorians. Always.
About the role:
The Director leads the Clinical Governance, Culture and Capability Unit within the Safety branch at Safer Care Victoria (SCV).
This unit exists to strengthen system capability through evidence-informed education, clinical governance support, consumer engagement, policy and experience-led learning. It plays a critical role in translating safety insights into action by building the knowledge, skills, structures, and cultural conditions required for safe, person-centred care across the Victorian health system.
The unit develops and delivers targeted safety education, embeds co-design and lived experience in improvement efforts, and fosters partnerships that promote trust, transparency, and continuous learning. Through this work, it supports health services to embed good governance, lead cultural change, and engage meaningfully with consumers and clinicians to deliver safer, higher quality care.
About us:
At the Victorian Department of Health we want a future where Victorians are the healthiest people in the world. A Victoria where our children and people thrive, our workplaces are productive and safe, and our communities are more connected.
