The Division of Surgical Services at Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Clinical Nurse (Orthopaedics) to join their team on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities
The Clinical Nurse (CN) – Orthopaedic provides nursing services within the health service settings and is responsible for a portfolio focused on clinical care/leadership, management, education, and research. Activities are predominantly clinical, while also supporting a Nurse Grade 7 or above in management activities. The CN Orthopaedic delivers advanced level clinical skills to ensure patient‐focused, evidence‐based nursing care plans, coordinates the clinical management of patient/client care, and provides leadership and support to other nursing staff.
The Clinical Nurse – Orthopaedic will manage the patient's journey and prepare patients for their surgical procedure, covering pre‐admission clinics, pre‐operative management/screening, patient education, audits, and statistics. The CN Orthopaedic also audits all trauma neck of femur (NOF) fracture patients and enters data into the NOF registry. The aim is to ensure all patients are medically fit and well prepared and educated for their procedure and subsequent discharge.
