An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated General Surgeon to join the Surgical & Perioperative Services Division.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive elective and emergency General Surgery services, including trauma management, and contribute to the ongoing delivery of high-quality patient care. Assess, diagnose, and treat patients requiring General Surgical care, and provide specialist surgical support to the Emergency Department.
Participate in the Acute Surgical Unit (ASU) on-call roster, providing timely assessment, management, and treatment of emergency surgical presentations, and contribute to the delivery of safe, high-quality surgical care across the service.
Work within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to clinical excellence, service development, quality improvement initiatives, and delivery of patient-centred care.

Type: Fractional and Full‑time – to be discussed with the successful applicant.
Requirements
* A primary medical qualification that permits registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (RACS) in General Surgery, or equivalent specialist qualifications recognised by RACS, or eligibility for Specialist Area of Need registration through AHPRA.
* Significant experience in contemporary General Surgical practice.
* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to clinical governance, quality improvement, and peer review processes.
* A commitment to continuing professional development and medical education relevant to General Surgery.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
