What you'll do Provide high level epidemiological support and advice for communicable disease, chronic disease and preventive health epidemiology, surveillance and research using a variety of information sources.
Support the development of recommendations to executive and senior management, and other stakeholders for epidemiology and research, aimed at contributing to evidence-based practice and enhancing clinical and population health outcomes.
Contribute to the development of high-priority analytical outputs and surveillance dashboards.
Provide high level written and oral reports and presentations on preventive health, chronic disease and communicable disease epidemiology to support the development and communication of public health intelligence and data.
Provide high level epidemiological advice to management, partners and other stakeholders through multidisciplinary team participation.
About you The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Science (Health Science) (Major in Epidemiology or Biostatistics) or Bachelor of Public Health (Major in Epidemiology), from a recognised tertiary institution.
We are searching for someone with: Demonstrated application of high level knowledge, expertise and skill in epidemiology including proficiency in statistical software such as R, Stata and SQL.
Demonstrated high level communication skills to produce oral and written presentations and maintain collaborations with a range of stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to collaboratively initiate and coordinate epidemiology projects including quality improvement activities within resource constraints.
Demonstrated high level ability to review, critically appraise and translate epidemiological data and literature into information that public health practitioners, policy makers, other clinicians and the public can understand and use.
