Duties
As a Dentist 1, you will do extractions, restorations, prosthetics, root canal therapy, prophylaxis, and limited periodontics; administer local anesthesia; examine and chart the dental condition of patients; take and interpret dental x-rays; perform oral surgery; and treat oral diseases and infections. Where appropriate you may provide oral hygiene instruction. You would have responsibility, usually under the advisory direction of a higher-ranking dentist, for the regular examination, treatment, and complete dental care of mostly adult patients residing with families, in group homes or in a NYS State facility for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a license and current registration to practice dentistry in Current York State. Some positions may require additional credentials or a background check to verify your identity.
