Our client is a construction head contractor and, as a result of continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Project Engineer and Project Manager to join their team to work on a $200m+ high‐rise residential project among others.
The candidate will ideally have some experience on the head contractor side of 20+ storey high‐rise residential projects in the Gold Coast / Brisbane / Sunshine Coast markets with local knowledge. Candidates without local experience may also be considered, provided they have high‐rise residential experience.
As a Project Engineer or Project Manager, you will support the successful delivery of projects from construction through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to quality standards.
Responsibilities
* Project delivery and site coordination – assisting with planning, coordination and execution of construction works.
* Managing subcontractors, suppliers and consultants on site.
* Monitoring construction programs, procurement schedules and project milestones.
* Reviewing construction drawings, shop drawings and technical documentation.
* Resolving technical issues and contributing to value engineering initiatives.
* Quality, safety and compliance – overseeing quality control across site activities, ensuring compliance with WHS, environmental and statutory requirements, supporting site safety systems, inspections and reporting.
* Reporting and stakeholder coordination – supporting project reporting, progress claims and cost tracking.
* Building strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
* Assisting the Project Manager with day-to-day project administration as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related field.
* Minimum 5–15+ years of experience, ideally working on high‐rise residential projects.
* Strong Queensland market knowledge.
* Understanding of local and state building codes and WHS requirements.
* Strong project financial reporting skills.
* Strategic thinker able to see the bigger picture.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Well‐developed interpersonal skills.
* Strong understanding of construction methodologies and site operations.
* Proactive, detail‐oriented and comfortable working in a fast‐paced environment.
