About InvestStream
InvestStream is revolutionising access to advice for all Australians with our AI-powered financial modelling engagement platform. We're building sophisticated tools that help superannuation funds retain and engage members throughout their financial journey, from accumulation through to retirement. Our platform combines modern technology with strong advice thinking to deliver personalised, accessible financial planning solutions.
The Opportunity
We're seeking an experienced Paraplanner to join our product team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented advice professional who is passionate about improving the quality, accessibility, and scalability of financial advice at scale. You will bring your paraplanning expertise to tools that influence how Australians receive financial guidance.
You will play an instrumental role in translating real-world advice practices, regulatory requirements, and client scenarios into high-quality decision logic, content, and workflows. Working closely with product managers, engineers, and other finance domain experts, you will help ensure our tools reflect best-practice advice standards while remaining clear, compliant, and user-friendly.
This is a product-focused paraplanning role; not a client-facing advice role. Instead of writing SOAs for individual clients, the work you will do is to utilise your extensive strategy and technical expertise to ensure all advice delivered to advisers and clients is accurate, compliant, and reflects industry-leading best practice.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and document advice workflows and client scenarios across accumulation, transition to retirement, and retirement phases
* Define and maintain financial planning assumptions, business rules, and decision rules used across our products and modelling tool
* Develop compliant advice templates, outputs, and disclosures aligned to scaled and digital advice frameworks
* Create and validate advice scenarios covering contributions, rollovers, pensions, investment strategies, centrelink, and insurance considerations
* Ensure our advice logic reflects current superannuation, tax, and social security legislation
* Translate advice requirements into clear written specifications and decision logic that the product team can build from
* Collaborate with product managers and engineers to ensure the advice is implemented accurately
* Define acceptance criteria that ensure advice outcomes are technically correct, compliant, and client-appropriate
* Contribute to the design of how members are guided through advice and how recommendations are explained to them
* Support the ongoing evolution of advice capability across products
Advice Review & Compliance (20%)
* Review and test advice outputs across a wide range of member profiles and edge cases
* Support internal and external compliance reviews, audits, and regulatory assessments
* Maintain documentation supporting Best Interest Duty, appropriate advice, and record-keeping obligations
* Identify and remediate advice risks, inconsistencies, or gaps in logic or disclosures
* Ensure alignment with ASIC guidance, RG 175, RG 255, and professional standards
Stakeholder Collaboration (10%)
* Work closely with the Chief Product Officer to prioritise advice features and enhancements
* Partner with various internal teams to ensure advice logic meets regulatory expectations
* Support UX designers by providing clear advice explanations and content inputs
* Act as a subject matter expert on advice construction and paraplanning best practice
