Position Summary
Open exclusively to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants. Full‐time Coordinator of Indigenous Engagement in the Office of the Vice‐President – Indigenous Engagement, based in CQUniversity's Townsville, Rockhampton, Gladstone or Bundaberg (relocation support available). Higher Education Worker Level 7. Total remuneration $125,827 to $136,078 per annum (salary $106,326 to $114,988, inclusive of 17% superannuation and leave loading).
Key Responsibilities
* Lead a dedicated team.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, community groups, industry partners and internal staff.
* Implement Indigenous engagement programs, conduct events and activities that showcase opportunities and support smooth transitions into university life.
* Raise the visibility of Indigenous programs across CQUniversity regions.
* Contribute to strategic leadership, mentor staff, and shape initiatives that improve participation, retention and long‐term success.

Position Requirements
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Indigenous peoples and communities.
* Ability to quickly acquire knowledge of CQUniversity policies, procedures and relevant higher‐education legislation, including the Indigenous Student Success Program and associated funding guidelines.
* Outstanding oral and written communication skills in an administrative environment, with a commitment to continual improvement, innovation and learning.
* Proven leadership, time‐management and problem‐solving abilities, including experience guiding a small team, managing performance and fostering a positive, student‐focused service culture.
* Excellent interpersonal and customer‐service skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across diverse groups and deliver responsive, culturally informed support.
