Primary Details: Time Type: Full time, Worker Type: Employee, Location: Parramatta or Newcastle, Type: Fixed term contract from August 2026 until June 2027. Hybrid role with flexible working options.
Responsibilities
* Act as first line owner for Claims risk and compliance management activities, including identification, assessment, monitoring, and treatment of operational and compliance risks.
* Own the end‐to‐end management of Claims issues as first line, including identification, documentation, assessment, and tracking of issues impacting contractual, regulatory, or operational requirements.
* Own and maintain the Claims Compliance Register, ensuring obligations are clearly defined, mapped, and up to date.
* Assist in the design, assessment and testing of key controls to ensure strong evidence and audit readiness.
* Lead and coordinate internal and external audits, acting as the key point of contact.
* Deliver clear, evidence‐based reporting to support governance, audit and leadership decision‐making.
Qualifications
* Experience in first‐line risk and compliance within financial services or insurance.
* Strong background in controls design, testing and assurance.
* Proven experience managing audits and working with internal and external auditors.
* Ability to manage issues and remediation activities end‐to‐end.
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and challenge.
* Solid analytical and problem‐solving capability, with clear and concise communication skills.
* Ability to work independently, with limited direction and guidance, and to provide appropriate coaching to other internal audit team members.
