The Role
As a Senior Credit Assessor, you'll provide senior‐level credit assessment and underwriting expertise across Residential Loans, and Commercial Loans where required.
You'll assess complex lending applications, provide technical guidance to the broader team, and help maintain a strong risk and compliance culture while supporting portfolio growth. This is an opportunity to influence lending quality, mentor others, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within a collaborative and high‐performing environment.
What You'll Be Doing
* Assess and approve complex residential and commercial lending applications, including self‐employed, company and trust structures
* Apply advanced financial analysis, policy interpretation, and risk assessment skills
* Manage policy exceptions and provide recommendations on escalated lending proposals
* Partner closely with lenders to structure quality lending solutions
* Coach and mentor Credit Assessors on complex scenarios and credit judgement
* Support continuous improvement across lending systems, workflows, and processes
* Ensure compliance with regulatory obligations, policies, and delegated authorities
* Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, valuers, solicitors, and mortgage insurers
What You'll Bring
* Extensive experience in residential and/or commercial lending within banking environments
* Strong credit analysis and financial assessment capability
* Deep understanding of Australian lending regulations and responsible lending obligations
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
* Strong coaching and mentoring capability
* Commercial acumen with the ability to balance customer outcomes and risk management
* High attention to detail and ability to manage complex workloads effectively
