Board Chair and Board Directors - Volunteer
Humanistiqs is supporting the board recruitment of a remarkable Australian charity. This organisation is 100% volunteer-run with zero administration costs. Every dollar raised is directed to the people and communities they exist to serve.
They deliver large-scale community outreach events and a range of creative, high-energy fundraisers across Brisbane and Melbourne, with national expansion underway. They have a passionate, active board and a founder who has built something genuinely worth being part of.
The founder is now transitioning into a CEO role, creating a rare opportunity for an incoming Chair to help shape the next chapter of a growing organisation.
Board Chair (1 position) and Board Directors (multiple positions). All roles are voluntary.
Time commitment
Approximately 6 board meetings per year, with additional support around events as needed. Meetings can be attended remotely. Events are held in Brisbane and Melbourne.
The Chair will provide independent governance oversight, lead board meetings, support the CEO in strategic decision-making, and act as the primary governance contact for donors and partners. The right candidate will bring:
* Prior board or governance experience, ideally in the NFP or corporate sector
* Financial literacy and comfort with governance accountability
* Independence from the organisation and its founder
* Networks and credibility that support the charity's growth
* Genuine alignment with the mission
Board Directors
Directors take on a portfolio area and contribute actively to both the governance and operational life of the organisation. We are looking for people with skills or networks across finance, legal, marketing, events, corporate partnerships, or community engagement. Formal board experience is valued but not essential. Commitment and genuine contribution are.
