Teacher of Chemistry / Science Teacher
In the heart of Lewisham an \"Outstanding\" secondary school is looking for a Teacher of Chemistry / Science Teacher to start in September 2026. This is a permanent, full‐time contract.
The Head Teacher seeks an ambitious Teacher of Chemistry / Science Teacher to add value to an expanding Science Department. The school is renowned for its supportive Senior Leadership Team and impressive Progress 8 results across all subjects.
Experienced Science Teachers may take on a Teacher, Leader & Regulator (TLR) role such as KS3 Coordinator or pastoral responsibility. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) will be enrolled onto the school's bespoke ECT induction programme, working alongside a range of young and experienced Science Teachers.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach Chemistry and Science across the curriculum
* Inspire and motivate students towards scientific understanding
* Work collaboratively with a dedicated team of Science Teachers
* Take on TLR opportunities such as KS3 Coordinator and pastoral duties
* Mentor ECTs through 1:1 support, bespoke NQT induction, and in‐house training
* Contribute to the school's commitment to educational excellence and student progress
Person Specification
* Must have UK QTS or be in the process of gaining it
* Strong academic background – degree, A‐levels and GCSEs in science disciplines
* Meet the 8 Teaching Standards to a 'Good' or 'Outstanding' level
* Capable of working as part of a large, collaborative Science team
* Open to feedback and continuous professional development
