About The Project
John Holland's Infrastructure division is currently constructing some of Australia's most complex projects. We are seeking an Electrical Senior Project Engineer for a wastewater and Class A Recycled Water project north in Wollert. The project is in an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phase, developing a reference design to approximately 50% maturity and submitting pricing for progression to the detailed design and construction (D&C) phase.
Your Role
Main responsibilities will shift as the project progresses from ECI to D&C.
* ECI Phase
o Work with design consultants to review design outputs, considering practicality, constructability, and cost efficiency.
o Manage on‐site investigation works required for design development.
o Procure electrical installation and equipment packages based on design outputs.
o Develop work methodologies and programme for site installation and construction works.
o Coordinate with engineers from mechanical, civil, and structural disciplines to ensure alignment in overall project delivery.
o Work with the estimating team to assemble the electrical portion of the pricing submission.
* D&C Phase
o Direct responsibility for cost and time control of the electrical portion of the project.
o Manage procurement of electrical installation, equipment, and instrumentation supply packages for construction.
o Lead the electrical project engineering team (Project Engineers, Site Engineers, and Graduates), coordinating activities, workloads, and providing technical and administrative guidance.
o Oversee on‐site engineering functions, ensuring project engineering completion is on time and within budget.
o Monitor quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material, checking drawings and specifications against site plans and conditions, and arranging corrections or modifications as necessary.
o Assign work and assist in reviews for accuracy and adherence to required standards of supplier, subcontractor quotations and purchase orders, as well as subcontractor arrangements.
o Coordinate and participate in construction planning with other disciplines.
o Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and planning authorities to ensure satisfactory completion of construction work.
About You
* Degree in Electrical Engineering.
* Strong experience in water or wastewater treatment plant design, construction or commissioning.
* 7 years of post‐graduate experience, with a minimum of 4 years on‐site, ideally with a tier‐one contractor.
* Leadership ability to provide mentorship to direct reports.
* Demonstrated commercial experience including planning and reporting on progress, cost and risk.
