Trade Assistants required to assist the Piping and Mechanical Team team with the preparation of material, tooling, equipment and to carry out cleaning within a shipbuilding operation as directed by immediate Supervisor.
What's Involved
* Participate in Confined Space Entry Sentry and Fire Sentry duties
* Assist tradespeople when required with the preparation of materials, tooling and equipment required to carry out the job.
* Carry out cleaning duties as required throughout the workshop and ships under construction
* Understand, embrace, implement and comply with all Austal Policies and Procedures related to HSEQ
* Hold self and workmates accountable to HSEQ standards
You'll Need
* Current Driver's Licence
* Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
* Capable of Performing work in a safe and acceptable manner
* Ability to use standard tools
* Possesses good time management skills and ability to meet targets set by the supervisor.
* Be fit and healthy
* EWP + 11m
* Work in accordance with an issued permit
* Demonstrate First Attack Fire Fighting Equipment
* 1 year Experience in Engineering or Construction industry as a trade assistant
* 1 year Experience in Confined Space Entry Sentry and First Sentry
* Hold or studying toward a cert 2 in Engineering
