About the Business:Indian Brothers - Morayfield is a well-known and established restaurant delivering authentic Indian cuisine to the local community.
We are passionate about offering a unique dining experience, combining traditional recipes, fresh ingredients, and exceptional customer service.Due to continued business growth and to meet increasing customer demand, we are seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.Design and execute authentic Indian menus, incorporating seasonal ingredients and catering to specific dietary requirements.Accurately forecast food costs and maintain effective inventory controls to reduce waste and ensure profitability.Skillfully prepare and present dishes, maintaining high culinary standards and consistent portion control.Oversee kitchen operations and staff to ensure smooth, efficient service during peak periods.Collaborate closely with both kitchen and front-of-house teams to streamline food preparation and service delivery.Uphold strict compliance with food safety laws and hygiene protocols throughout kitchen processes.Lead, train, and mentor kitchen personnel, offering support in food handling, cleanliness, and operational procedures.Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations for kitchen staff.Enforce best practices for food storage, rotation, and preservation to guarantee freshness and regulatory compliance.Continuously assess food quality and consistency, addressing any issues in a timely manner.Communicate effectively with suppliers, management, and team members to coordinate supply orders and deliveries.Interact with customers when necessary to accommodate dietary restrictions or personalized meal preferences.The ideal candidate will have:Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience as a qualified chef, preferably in Indian cuisine.Must hold a qualification equivalent to at least AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or a higher-level qualification in culinary arts.Sound knowledge of Indian spices, cooking methods, and regional flavours.Knowledge of making Indian curries from Scratch.Strong leadership and team management skills.Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Have a positive, proactive attitude.
