Payroll Lead | 6-Month Contract | Hybrid | Sydney
We are working with a great organisation who are looking for an experienced Payroll Lead for a 6-month contract. You'll step into an interim leadership role, keeping payroll running for a ~600-person workforce while supporting a small, capable team.
Key Responsibilities
* Own end-to-end payroll processing — accurate, compliant and on time
* Manage validation, sign-off, super, salary packaging and statutory obligations
* Provide expert advice on Awards, PAYG, FBT and payroll legislation
* Lead, mentor and coordinate a small payroll team day-to-day
* Partner with Finance and People & Culture on compliance and reporting
* Support system improvements, audits and process enhancements
Ideal Candidate
* Hands‐on iChris/Chris21 experience — essential
* Strong end-to-end payroll background in a complex, multi-award environment
* Confident interpreting Awards and applying payroll legislation
* Prior senior or lead payroll experience with some team oversight
* Advanced Excel and a process improvement mindset
* Public or private sector backgrounds both welcome
