About the Opportunity
This is a key technical coaching role focused on uplifting capability across our Third‐Party Administrator (TPA) Liability team, with a particular emphasis on foundational personal injury liability principles and effective claims management practices.
The role will be responsible for reviewing, enhancing, and embedding Crawford's liability training materials, as well as delivering hands‐on coaching to a cohort of claims handlers across the team.
You will act as a technical leader/coach within the team, supporting claims handlers to build confidence and competence in policy interpretation, liability decision‐making and claims management fundamentals. While not a traditional file‐handling role, you will play a critical part in improving claims outcomes through capability uplift and consistent technical coaching.
Note: Although advertised as Brisbane‐based, we are open to other locations Australia‐wide for the right candidate.

About You
You are an experienced liability claims professional with a strong technical foundation and a genuine passion for developing others. You will bring a practical, hands‐on approach to coaching and training, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts and apply them to real claims scenarios.

* Be a confident and credible liability claims professional with strong technical expertise in policy interpretation, liability assessment, and quantum considerations.
* Have experience in mentoring, coaching, or developing less experienced claims professionals.
* Be a strong communicator who can engage, influence, and build trust across a range of stakeholders.
* Be passionate about improving claims quality, consistency, and technical capability across a team.
* Take a structured and disciplined approach to file management standards and claims best practice.
* Be proactive in identifying capability gaps and contributing to training and development solutions.
Key Requirements
* Strong experience in liability claims, with a focus on personal injury liability claims. Professional indemnity experience highly regarded.
* Proven ability to coach, mentor, or develop claims professionals at varying levels of experience.
* Strong understanding of policy wording, coverage interpretation, liability principles, and quantum assessment.
* Demonstrated ability to apply structured claims handling discipline and best practice file management including the General Insurance Code of Practice and RG 271 Complaints Management processes.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into practical learning.
* Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills, with sound judgement in complex claims environments.
* Tertiary qualifications in law, insurance or a related discipline (desirable).
