Head Barista / Front of House Supervisor (Full Time)
We're looking for an experienced and passionate Head Barista / Front of House Supervisor to join the team at Convoy Commune in Merewether.
This is a hands‐on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast‐paced café environment, loves specialty coffee, and enjoys leading a team to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
About the Role
As our Head Barista / FOH Supervisor, you'll be responsible for overseeing daily front‐of‐house operations while maintaining the high coffee standards Convoy Commune is known for.
Responsibilities
* Lead and support the front‐of‐house team during service
* Lead coffee service and maintain high standards of quality and consistency
* Support, train and mentor baristas and floor staff
* Ensure smooth daily operations, manage an efficient workflow and maintain high service standards, especially during busy periods
* Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient café environment
* Assist with stock control, ordering, and open/close procedures
* Deliver warm, genuine customer service, handle customer enquiries and build relationships with regulars
* Maintain a positive, respectful and fun team culture and professional work environment
About You
* Has previous experience as a senior barista, head barista, or café supervisor with strong coffee knowledge and skills
* Can confidently handle high‐volume coffee service while maintaining quality
* Has strong leadership and communication skills
* Is confident leading a team in a fast‐paced environment, leads by example and brings a positive attitude to every shift
* Is organised, reliable, proactive and solutions‐focused
* Able to remain calm under pressure and solve problems effectively
* Has a genuine passion for hospitality, specialty coffee and the people we serve
* Holds full Australian working rights
* Available to work weekends and public holidays as required

* Salary package of $70,000 – $80,000 per year + super, based on experience
