Key Responsibilities
* Fabricate metal components using cutting, bending, and shaping techniques
* Perform welding using MIG, TIG, Stick, or other appropriate methods
* Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications
* Measure and mark materials for cutting and assembly
* Assemble and fit parts to ensure proper alignment and structural integrity
* Inspect finished welds and fabricated components for quality and accuracy
* Operate fabrication equipment such as press brakes, grinders, and cutting tools
* Maintain and service welding and fabrication equipment
* Follow workplace health, safety, and environmental procedures
* Work collaboratively with engineers, supervisors, and other trades
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Relevant trade qualification in welding, fabrication, or metalwork
* Proven experience in both welding and fabrication work
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans
* Strong understanding of welding techniques and fabrication processes
* Valuable mathematical and measurement skills
* High attention to detail and workmanship quality
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in industries such as manufacturing, construction, or heavy engineering
* Additional certifications in specific welding processes or materials
* Experience with CNC or automated fabrication equipment
* Knowledge of different metals including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
Working Conditions
* Workshop and/or on-site environments
* Exposure to heat, noise, fumes, and heavy machinery
* May require lifting heavy materials and working in various positions
* Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory
Pay: $35.00 – $38.00 per hour
