The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a qualified and motivated Civil Engineering Technician to join our dynamic team. You will play a crucial role in supporting the design, planning, and execution of a variety of HVAC and air management projects across Adelaide.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist in planning, and coordinating HVAC and mechanical systems integrated into civil infrastructure.
· Support engineers in drafting, modelling, and reviewing civil and mechanical construction drawings, layouts, and specifications using CAD software.
· Conduct site inspections to assess foundations, supports, penetrations, and underground service routes related to HVAC installations.
· Analyse civil and mechanical drawings to identify potential conflicts and determine optimal locations for ductwork, and units within structural and architectural constraints.
· Review civil and plumbing layouts to plan and coordinate the most effective drainage paths for condensate lines, ensuring compliance with slope, accessibility, and safety requirements.
· Gather field data and perform measurements for engineering assessments, and as-built documentation.
· Assist in preparing project documentation, technical reports, quality records, and cost estimates.
· Ensure all work complies with Australian Standards, WHS, and relevant building codes.
· Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and suppliers to coordinate platforms for HVAC equipment.
Requirements
● Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering or related field
● 1+ years of experience in a similar technical role preferred
● Proficient with CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
● Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
● Familiarity with HVAC systems is highly regarded
