Calvary Riverina Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Unit Manager to join the Critical Care Services team. The critical care unit comprises ICU, CCU and close observation beds. The role is a full time position working business hours Monday – Friday, with the ability to be flexible to support operational needs depending on service demands.
Your main duties will include:
* Ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of patient care in the critical care unit.
* Accountability for workforce management, resource allocation, patient flow, and compliance with clinical standards and regulatory requirements.
* Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement while demonstrating strong clinical leadership.
* Working collaboratively with Department Managers and the Executive Team to achieve organisational priorities and sustain safe, high-quality outcomes.
About you
* Current registration with AHPRA.
* Proven management experience and leadership of teams.
* A minimum of 5 years post graduate experience in public and/or private health sector.
* Proven experience in change management, facilitating a positive workplace culture and workforce engagement.
* Demonstrated understanding of contemporary clinical practice in critical care areas (ICU/CCU/COU).
* Demonstrated understanding and ability to manage key performance indicators within budget.
* High level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive and constructive relationships.
* Proven ability to work autonomously and in a multidisciplinary team with the ability to manage priorities and a busy workload; and
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in management, working towards same or equivalent.
