This junior systems engineer role is part of a multidisciplinary team, providing an opportunity to enhance your systems engineering expertise and leadership skills. You will contribute to the Wakulda Program by managing complex tasks, from the initial proposal and design phases through to the integration of changes into the platform.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and document requirements via drawings, data sets, reports, specifications and supporting data
* Develop designs based on defined requirements
* Test and validate designs to meet operational and functional requirements
* Develop and progress change management artefacts
* Act as a stakeholder interface to ensure that engineering and technical requirements are adequately understood and communicate engineering status on project deliverables
* Manage design through the system engineering reviews and business gate process
* Work with the project team to ensure the engineering scope is developed, verified and delivered within the quality, schedule and budgetary constraints of the project
* Work with the project team to identify, mitigate and manage technical and project risks associated with capability delivery
Qualifications
* Approx 2 years' experience in complex technical development and integration projects
* Understanding of Systems Engineering principles and lifecycle management, including mandated system reviews
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to engage, influence and negotiate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and customers
* Experience developing and executing against Systems Engineering artefacts including Systems Engineering Management Plan and Verification and Validation Plan
* Experience with change management processes and progressing change management artefacts
* Experience in technical problem solving
* Experience with aerospace and/or defence projects and have NV1 clearance
* Experience in supporting projects in an ASDEFCON contract environment highly regarded

This position can be based in Brisbane or Williamtown.
