Role

Permanent Part‐Time Nurse Practitioner (0.6 FTE, 45.6 hours per fortnight) in the Sexual Health Department.

Salary: $164,360 per year.

Location: South Metropolitan Health Service – Fremantle Hospital, WA.

Key Responsibilities

* The Nurse Practitioner provides a clinical service in collaboration with other health professionals to diagnose, treat and manage a patient's health status in accordance with National legislation.
* The Nurse Practitioner performs advanced physical assessment; orders diagnostic tests, interprets the results of these tests, initiates referrals to relevant health providers, and prescribes appropriate medicines and other therapies as needed.
* The Nurse Practitioner will provide clinical leadership and practice within their scope of practice considerate of the Nursing and Midwifery Board's Nursing Practice Decision Flowchart.
* As part of their role, the Nurse Practitioner conducts outreach services which take place at several community sites within the SMHS catchment area.
* As a senior nurse, this role has professional accountability to the Director of Nursing and Midwifery and provides mentorship and role modelling for our nurses and contributes to the advancement of the profession, in keeping with the vision and values of the Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospital Group.

Eligibility

Applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed‐term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments).
