We're looking for a hands‐on Workshop Manager to lead a team of skilled Workshop and Field Service mechanics and drive performance, safety, and service excellence every day.
About The Role
As Workshop Manager, you'll take ownership of a major workshop operation — leading people, planning workloads, and ensuring our fleet is maintained to the highest standards. Working closely with the Branch Manager, you'll align workshop priorities to customer demand and play a key role in delivering reliable, high‐quality equipment.
What You'll Do
* Lead and coach a team of mechanics, and contractors to deliver safe, efficient outcomes
* Plan and prioritise maintenance, servicing, and repairs to maximise fleet availability
* Drive a strong safety‐first culture across all workshop activities
* Manage workshop performance, including costs, utilisation, and equipment uptime
* Coordinate field service, breakdown response, and external repairs
* Ensure all equipment meets Coates' quality standards
What You'll Bring
* Proven leadership experience in a workshop or operational environment
* Mechanical trade qualification (Fitter/Mechanic or equivalent)
* Strong operational mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities
* Solid commercial awareness and focus on cost‐effective outcomes
