ADV Technical Consulting is a trusted IT support organisation specialising in modern workplace transformations, Microsoft 365 solutions, and cybersecurity outcomes for our clients. We work closely with businesses to understand their unique challenges and design IT environments that are secure, productive, and built to last. Our team takes pride in deep customer relationships and a reputation for getting things right.
About the role
We're looking for a Senior IT Support Engineer who brings technical depth and genuine people skills in equal measure. This is a fully office-based, customer-facing role — you'll be on-site with clients and in our office daily, so we're looking for someone who lives reasonably close to our Darch office and values the energy of working alongside a great team in person. You'll engage directly with customers, lead projects across modern office, M365, and cybersecurity domains, and help your team deliver exceptional outcomes. We value people who are curious, committed to growing their skills, and who see every project as an opportunity to learn.
What you'll be doing
Engaging with customers on-site and in the office to understand their requirements and design tailored IT solutions
Leading and delivering projects across modern workplace, Microsoft 365, and cybersecurity
Administering and optimising RMM toolsets and PSA management systems to drive service quality
Managing and configuring our security stack — including WatchGuard, SentinelOne, Barracuda, ThreatLocker, and Keeper
Resolving complex, escalated support issues with a calm and empathetic approach
Delegating effectively and enabling team members to contribute confidently to shared projects
Producing clear documentation, reports, and communications for both technical and non-technical audiences
Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement
What we're looking for
5+ years of experience in IT support, systems engineering, or a managed services environment
Based in Perth or the surrounding area — this is a fully office-based role with regular on-site client visits
Hands-on experience with RMM toolsets (e.g. NinjaRMM, ConnectWise Automate, Datto RMM) — required
Experience with PSA systems (e.g. ConnectWise Manage, Autotask, HaloPSA) — required
Strong Microsoft 365 platform skills — administration, migration, security, and modern workplace deployment
Familiarity with our security stack or similar products: WatchGuard, SentinelOne, Barracuda, ThreatLocker, and Keeper
Solid grasp of cybersecurity principles — MFA, EDR, conditional access, application control, and compliance
Proven ability to understand customer requirements and craft solutions that genuinely address their needs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills — clear, professional, and confident at all levels
Genuine empathy for customer issues, with a patient and solutions-focused mindset
Demonstrated ability to delegate tasks and empower colleagues to deliver on shared projects
A genuine desire to keep learning and growing — we invest in people who invest in themselves
Relevant certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA Security+, ITIL, WatchGuard) highly regarded
