Position
Blade Operator
Shift
1st, Monday - Friday, 7am - 3pm
Supervision
This position works under the supervision of the Supervisor – Manufacturing, or in his/her absence, the designee. Duties are performed without constant supervision. Assignments are made daily and results are reviewed daily or as needed.
Knowledge and Experience
Position requires: (1) a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma; (2) completion of basic math, blueprint reading and gauge‐reading training; (3) ability to understand written and oral instructions and communicate with supervisors and coworkers; and (4) a forklift operator's license. Six months of manufacturing experience is preferred.

Key Job Accountabilities
* Safety: Perform pre‐operation checks for both individual machines and work area. Perform safety inspections required for individual machines and associated equipment (i.e., forklift, cranes, hoists).
* Production:
o Set‐up and operate mill and shear.
o Set‐up and operate drill and punch presses.
o Set‐up and operate brazing equipment to braze various products.
o Assemble carbide to blades for braze process.
o Inspect, paint, straighten, and package finished product.
o Change tools, adjust and/or set up shears or milling machines, including selecting proper cutters, determining feeds and speeds, and replacing cutters when dull as required.
o Assist other operators as needed.
* Quality: Inspect parts to meet established ISO requirements.
* Delivery: Support functions and change‐overs to meet established due dates.
* Cost: Responsible for tracking and problem solving of the materials used and efficient equipment use to reduce cost.
* Inventory: Responsible for management of WIP and components (i.e., carbide, braze, flux and steel). Perform cycle counts as specified.
* Lean: Participate in lean events and utilize lean processes in daily duties.
* TPM: Perform daily required TPM on associated equipment.
* 5S: Perform daily required 5S activities for work area.
* Metrics: Perform daily activities associated with gathering and posting established metrics.
* Data: Accurate and timely recording of required data (i.e., Production, quality etc).
