About the Role:
Special Care Nursery is a level 3 unit in the ACT and supports surrounding NSW. SCN have 12 funded beds. There are approximately 1700 births per year in NCH, and approximately 550 neonatal admissions to the Unit. The facility offers individualised family-centred care in a developmentally appropriate and technologically state-of-the-art environment.
SCN are family integrated and developmentally care focused units with staff who work closely to achieve excellent outcomes for the neonates and families in our care.
You will be provided with a 12-month supported Neonatal Foundation Program designed for Registered Nurses new to the neonatal care setting. It is a supported program consisting of dedicated study days, supernumerary shifts and SCN learning packages. At the completion of this program, you will be competent to care for premature and term babies and support families to have an informative and supported transition to discharging home.

* SCN is offering 12-month Special Care Nursery Transition to practice Foundation Program for registered nurses looking to build a career in neonatal care. Learn, grow, and be part of a compassionate team at North Canberra Hospital. Minimum 2-year acute nursing.
Note: These are temporary positions available for a period of 12 months.
A merit pool may be established from this recruitment process and will be used for the next 12 months to fill various positions both on a temporary and permanent basis with full-time and part-time opportunities available.
