Postdoc position #1: Molecular and Cell Biology
About the project:
We are seeking a highly motivated molecular and cell biologist to lead mechanistic studies in epigenetic regulation. The focus of these studies is to understand how chromatin-modifying complexes regulate gene expression and their implications in cancer. The successful candidate will have on-site access to core equipment for epigenetics such as imaging, flow cytometry, NGS sequencer, etc.
About you:
We are looking for an experienced molecular and cell biologist with the following essential and advantageous experiences.
Must have
* Extensive experience in molecular biology and genomics techniques, particularly in studying transcription and epigenetic regulation using mammalian cell lines. Key techniques include IP, IP-MS, ChIP-seq, ATAC-Seq, CUT&RUN/Tag, RNA-seq, RIP, etc.
* Proven experience in genome editing and genomic engineering using mammalian cell lines.
Advantageous (but not required)
* Experience in genetic screens, working with stem cells and mouse models, and knowledge of developmental biology and cancer biology.
* Skill in coding (R and/or Python) and familiarity with working on Linux-based clusters.
Postdoc position #2: Structural Biology
About the project:
We are seeking a highly motivated structural biologist to lead projects aiming to understand the structure and function of chromatin-associated complexes involved in gene repression. The candidate will have access to state-of-the-art facilities at Adelaide Microscopy, including multiple transmission electron microscopes (TEM) such as a Glacios 200 kV Cryo-TEM. Additionally, resources available include the Phoenix high-performance computing (HPC), Bragg Crystallography facility, and Adelaide Proteomics Centre. Our collaboration with Monash University further extends our access to advanced 300 kV Titan Krios and Helios 5 UX cryo-FIBSEM.
About you:
We are looking for an experienced structural biologist with the following essential and advantageous experiences.
Must have
* Extensive biochemistry experience, specifically in expressing and purifying large multi-subunit protein complexes, and analyzing them through in vitro methods.
* Extensive experience in structural biology techniques, especially with cryo-EM. This includes sample preparation, data collection, computational analysis, and 3D structure determination of protein macromolecules.
Advantageous (but not required)
* Experience in the structural, biochemical, and biophysical study of interactions between DNA/RNA/chromatin and protein.
* Experience in cell culture and various molecular biology techniques.
