About the Role
School psychologist essential to the Department's school counselling service. Provides counselling, psychological assessment, and supports student wellbeing, learning outcomes, and communication with families and agencies.
Key Accountabilities
* Provide individual and group counselling and short‐term therapeutic interventions within scope and supervision.
* Implement procedures of the Professional Practice Framework for NSW School Counselling Service.
* Collaborate with principal, staff, and student support services to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes and implement departmental priorities.
* Contribute to social, emotional, and academic development of students and support those with complex behavioural needs.
* Administer cognitive, social, emotional and behavioural assessments; report results and collaborate to improve outcomes.
* Work collaboratively with learning and support teams, parents, carers and agencies to develop appropriate school‐based support.
* Respond as part of a team to assist schools experiencing serious incidents.
* Refer students and families to external agencies for further support.
Essential Requirements
* Knowledge and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy, Partnership Agreement with NSW AECG Inc. and the Diversity and Inclusion Strategy.
* General or Provisional Psychology Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
* Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) – NSW.
* Valid driver's licence and travel willingness between sites.
* Aust‐citizenship or permanent residency.
Remuneration and Benefits
Package valued up to $182,461 plus incentives where applicable. Base salary ranges from $101,122 to $160,983 (subject to professional experience). Includes leave loading, employer's superannuation contribution, recreation leave, flex leave, travel allowances, fitness passport program and indemnity insurance cover.
Rural and remote incentives up to $30,000 per annum based on remoteness and school type.
